How to cut audio online

Is my audio uploaded?
No. The file is decoded, cut and encoded by this page inside your browser. The only files your browser downloads are this page and its two scripts, both from this site.
Can I cut an MP3 file?
Yes, it works as an MP3 cutter. Drop the MP3 into the box above, mark the part you want and download it as MP3 or WAV. To cut MP3 files into several clips, add one region for each clip.
Can I cut an MP3 without re-encoding it?
No. The page decodes your file first, and MP3 export encodes the cut part again. If you want to avoid a second round of MP3 compression, export WAV instead. The WAV file will be at least twice the size of the MP3.
How do I trim audio at the start and end?
Keep a single region that starts where the part you want begins and ends where it stops, then download it. Trimming audio is the same job as cutting, so this page is also an audio trimmer. It does not find silence for you, so set the points on the waveform or by listening with Play region.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. Open this page in your phone's browser to trim MP3 online without installing an app. Drag the handles with your finger or type the exact times. Your file stays on your phone.
Which formats can I export?
MP3 at 128, 192, 256 or 320 kbps, or WAV as 16-bit PCM. Both are written at 44.1 kHz, in stereo for stereo sources and mono for mono sources.
MP3 or WAV?
WAV contains exactly the samples between your start and end times. MP3 is smaller, but MP3 encoding adds a short stretch of silence at the start of the file and the audio is re-compressed, so pick WAV when the exact cut point matters.
Is there a file size or length limit?
This page sets none. The whole decoded file is kept in memory while you edit, so very long files need more memory and the practical limit depends on your device.
